Shocking of the food you eat everyday

Shocking of the food you eat everyday

Food is fuel.

We all have heard that analogy before but do we really understand it completely? Do we really follow it? Do we really get what it means? I am sure the answer would vary from a blunt ‘no’ to a fluttering ‘may be’. We have grown up in a culture where food is worshiped and where we put a lot of focus in creating a happy and harmonious kitchen. But because of immense technological advancements, single family trends and an eventful lifestyle, we are compromising on our food habits and not taking care of the body we call the ‘temple’. Definitely, ‘something is missing’ in our lives. We consume all sorts of carbohydrates and fats but we are not taking in the right amount of protein our body requires. Protein is one important ingredient that is completely ignored from our everyday food lifestyle.

We are literally not being mindful or thoughtful of what we eat. And it has nothing to do with you being a fitness freak or a calorie conscious person. It’s just about everyday habits that help us in functioning properly. Did you know protein is the building block of our system? Here is the rundown of what this macronutrient does for you –

  • It helps in tissue structure and growth
  • Supports our immunity and metabolism
  • Helps in maintaining a healthy weight
  • Stabilize blood sugar levels
  • Provide energy to carry out the daily activities
  • Balance hormones
  • It is good for your bones and muscle mass
  • Eating protein is one of the best ways to prevent age-relate sarcopenia

In a nutshell, every cell in your body contains protein. it is the second most important substance in the body after water. Actually there would be no life without protein but we are not putting enough attention to that at all.

That being said, there are some general protein guidelines that can serve as a good recommendation to aim for each day. According to the USDA, the recommended daily intake of protein for adults who are at an average weight and activity level is:

  • 56 grams per day for men
  • 46 grams per day for women

You can consume protein through different foods such as nuts, dairy products, meat, vegetables, fish and grains. People think that vegetarians can’t eat enough protein but they forget that there are many sources and all one needs is interest and inclination to eat healthy. You can check out amazing protein supplement like Protinex which can provide you the required strength and stamina to rebuild yourself! It comes in different flavors, so there is something for everyone!
